About
Many of you may already be familiar with we-go-offroad.com while others are new to the site. We-go-offroad.com was founded in 2001 to serve as an online photo gallery for a group of friends based in Lexington, KY. Patrick Dotson, we-go’s original founder, soon learned that his OG wheelers were falling apart due to life and other interests.
At that point it was decided to make the site public. With the help of friends, over 1,000 business cards were stuck on windshields of 4×4s and anything with a lift kit. It’s all been downhill since. The site peaked in 2005 with well over 4,000 members in all 50 states and three countries. Club rides were scheduled at least five times a year. But it became much more than that. We-go watched the formation of friendships, marriages (and divorces), people from all walks of life helping one another. We quickly realized this was a lifestyle; this is where our friends were.
As does everything in life, things began to slow down. Some of the core group was drawn to competitions, trails began to close down, and LIFE took over for many. New jobs, new families, everything that could interfere with most of our weekend plans DID interfere. However, the friendships stayed.
This new site is Version 2.0 for both the website and the members. We knew we had a bunch of members in the previous site who no longer visited the site or kept in touch with everyone, so now we are starting with a clean slate. We hope to bring the site back stronger than ever and with your help and support I’m sure that will be possible.
